Maldives Islamic University signs agreement with Madinah University

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has signed an agreement with Islamic University of Madinah to work together in progressing education.

During a special ceremony held at IUM, the University’s chancellor Dr. Ali Shameem signed the agreement on behalf of IUM and the Rector of the Islamic University of Madinah, His Excellency Dr Hatim bin Al Marzuki signed on behalf of Madinah University.

While speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Shameen said that IUM will be getting aid from Madinah University for various things like supervising for research, trainings and even scholarship opportunities. He added that it was an honour to have a Rector of such an esteemed university visit the Maldives.

Dr. Hatim said that this would improve the diplomatic relations between the two countries. He added that the agreement also include exchanging lecturers and teaching its programs in Maldives.

Dr. Hatim had met with some alumni from University of Madinah as well.
