Opposition coalition, on Monday, stated that they have set a candidate for the Presidential Elections 2018 to represent the joint opposition parties.
Speaking during the press conference held at Jumhoory Party's main hub in capital Male, secretary general Ahmed Sameer stated that the candidate would be revealed at the appropriate time.
“We can see our candidate is all set [for the upcoming elections]. Whether the candidate is in a cell, or in another country, or in the Maldives, it is not our prime concern at the moment,” said the JP secretary general.
Sameer had further alleged that the Elections Commission was holding the all-party talks in favour of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) as a means of gathering information from the opposition coalition.
