The state lawyer formerly appointed by the police revealed late Sunday eight that eight officers, who were arrested under the State of Emergency over the alleged coup in early February, have been terminated.
The Criminal Court extended the remand of one officer by 10 days and the remands of the remaining by seven days on Sunday, according to lawyer Nazim Sattar.
The court order stated that the eight officers also have several other charges against them, including attending unlawful gatherings against the defense forces and for attempting to tarnish the reputation of the police institution.
In addition to these officers, the former Police Commissioner has also been dismissed from post and charged with terrorism after the Supreme Court's landmark verdict on February 1.
