Criminal Court, on Sunday, remanded Machangoalhi-South MP Abdulla Sinan until the end of his trial.
MP Sinan was arrested under the state of emergency last February and charged with attempted coup and terrorism. The lawmaker’s remand was extended for an additional 15 days after his arrest.
MP Sinan is the last among the nine lawmakers remanded until trial over terrorism charges.
The former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and Judge Ali Hameed were among the top profiles arrested under the state of emergency declared by President Abdulla Yameen earlier last month, after the Supreme Court issued its landmark ruling.
