Police are investigating allegations that a minor was bullied on social media by other students at a school on an island under the Central Police jurisdiction.
Police said today that they were investigating a case involving the alleged online bullying of a student by other schoolchildren but did not provide further details.
The case involves a social media account that allegedly targeted a schoolgirl over an extended period, using her photograph and making repeated posts mocking her appearance. Some posts also reportedly contained obscene language and death threats against the girl.
The allegations have recently attracted widespread attention on social media, with the school's principal also facing criticism over the handling of the matter.
Responding to the criticism, the principal said the girl had been bullied by a student who no longer attends the school. The principal, who took up the post four months ago, said the bullying had been ongoing for around a year and a half and was already under investigation by the relevant authorities.
The TikTok account being used for bullying the student has since been deactivated.
