The Criminal Court has sentenced a man convicted of sexual abuse of a three year old to 20 years in prison. 

The man convicted of child sexual abuse has been identified as Mohamed Naaish Adam, of Hudhumaage, HA. Hoarafushi. 

The Criminal Court has not disclosed further details regarding the case so as to ascertain the protection of the victim. 

The State accused Naaish of continued sexual abuse of a 3 year old in multiple instances from 2025 onwards. 

After deducting time spent in custody under remand, Naaish will now have to spend 18 years, 7 months and 28 days in prison.
