While an alcohol distribution network in H. Maadhooge, where bottles were stored in an office on the island and sold in Male', has been dismantled, the police stated in court that the bottles were kept securely in a separate part of the office with limited access, and that the suspect who was arrested in connection having access to the space is Mohamed Rashwan.

Accused of leading the network and arrested, Mohamed Rashwan, 53, H. Karoage, is the Managing Director of the office where the alcohol is stocked in Maadhooge.

His 15-day remand expired and was brought to the court, with the court ordering an additional 15-day remand.

Rashwan's court order reads that he has been arrested on the of accusation using, possessing and conducting trading alcohol, and that the police has submitted enough evidence to keep him placed under remand.

An intelligence report, photo report and a fingerprint identification notice was filed as evidence.

The order reads that the police found multiple bottles that were suspected to have alcohol in them. The order also reads that certain people had access to the office where the bottles were found which had a custom shelf rack to store the alcohol, and that Rashwan had access to the space.

Two floors in the Maadhooge office were searched, with three expatriates being arrested initially. Their court order reads that two people who were "stopped and searched" were Rashwan's employees.

The two employees told the Investigation Officer that they were committing the crime upon Rashwan's instruction.

However, the order reads that Rashwan denies all allegations against him.

Rashwan's legal team requested he be released on bail, but the presiding judge decided to not grant them that request.

Bangladeshi's Al Ameen, 34, Polin, 43 and MD Rakib Hossen, 25, were arrested in the case where alcohol was being stored at the two floors in Maadhooge and being supplied.

The search at the two floors at Maadhooge via a court order uncovered 826 bottles of alcohol.

A video shared by the police showed that upon entering the apartment with a smart lock, bottles of alcohol were arranged on wooden racks.
