Maumoon Foundation has granted a higher education scholarship to a student pursuing studies at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

The scholarship has been granted to IUM student Mohamed Shan Ahmed.

The scholarship was presented to Shan by Maumoon Foundation's Vice Chairman Ahmed Faris Maumoon. Under the scholarship, Shan will be pursuing a Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge, Leadership and Administration at IUM.

The Maumoon Foundation said that the recipient of the scholarship had been selected by the IUM independently. The scholarship covers tuition fees, cost of books, allowance for academic conferences and a monthly stipend.

Maumoon Foundation granted a similar scholarship last year to a student who pursued Masters of Arts in Quranic Studies.

At the scholarship awarding ceremony, Vice Chairman Faris said that the Maumoon Foundation is honoured to collaborate with trusted institutes such as the IUM.

IUM Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Zahir said that the university had conducted the recipient selection fairly and with full independence. He wished the Maumoon Foundation continued success in their efforts.
