The Maldivian flight scheduled to take Umrah pilgrims to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia tomorrow has been cancelled for security reasons due to the war in the Middle East.

The flight was earlier scheduled for tomorrow, October 29.

In a statement issued tonight, Maldivian said that they are closely monitoring the security situation in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, in relation to the ongoing conflict in the region.

Escalating regional tensions over the past 24 hours have prompted several airlines to temporarily suspend flights to Saudi Arabia. Maldivian stated that international aviation authorities also advise against using Jeddah's airspace at this time.

Maldivian and Maldives Hajj Corporation apologized for any inconveniences that the postponement of tomorrow's flight may cause to Umrah pilgrims. The airline stressed that ensuring passengers' safety takes priority at all times.

The Hajj Corporation has assured that passengers who purchased tickets for the flight will be accommodated on a future flight at no additional cost once the situation stabilizes and travel safety can be guaranteed.

Maldivian stated that passengers will be notified of new dates for travel once the situation in the region has eased and travel security is assured.
