Maldives Hajj Corporation has announced its Umrah travel calendar for next year, with trips scheduled to coincide with school holidays to make it easier for families to perform the pilgrimage.
The corporation said the schedule was planned around the academic calendar, school breaks and dates considered convenient for families.
The planned Umrah trips are:
- Ramadan Umrah: During the final 10 days of Ramadan, when schools are closed
- July Umrah: During the first-term school holidays
- September Umrah: During the midterm holidays
- December Umrah: During the end-of-year school holidays
Hajj Corporation said prices for next year’s trips would remain unchanged. The July and September packages will cost MVR 30,965, while the December package will cost MVR 31,965.
For the final 15 days of Ramadan, the corporation will operate direct flights from Gan International Airport in Addu City to Jeddah, in addition to flights from Male'. It is also planning to operate flights from Addu to Jeddah during upcoming school holidays.
The corporation has also arranged for Umrah pilgrims to receive vaccinations at the nearest health centre where the vaccine is available, at no additional cost.
The Hajj Corporation said places on each trip would be limited and urged those interested to register early through its online portal, "Faheli", or its website, hajj.mv.
