The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has said that 14 individuals from those taken to the island's hospital with varying injuries caused in the fire have now been discharged after treatment.
However, four individuals remain in hospital under treatment.
Fire broke out at the privately owned fuel shed at the Funadhoo Harbour at around 8am today. It took authorities until 12pm to bring the blaze under control.
NDMA said that 18 individuals had sustained different levels of injuries from the fire and needed treatment in hospital. This includes 16 members of the public, a fire fighter and a hospital staff member.
Although none of the injuries were serious, four still remain under treatment, NDMA said, while the others have now been discharged.
The hospital previously said that some of these individuals came for treatment for burn injuries caused by projectiles and debris when the fuel tank exploded. They said that the blast had caused fragments to be flung to a distance of 200 feet.
NDMA said that as the situation unfolds, the number of confirmed reports of injuries, affected households, evacuations and damage are prone to change.
As of now, five households have been affected by the fire, and 33 individuals have been relocated to temporary shelters, NDMA said.
MNDF's Fire & Rescue teams are working on cooling operations to eliminate residual heat and prevent the fire from reigniting, NDMA said.
The response team included MNDF's Northern Area Command Fire & Rescue Service, Funadhoo Airport Fire & Rescue team, Police, Funadhoo Council and Funadhoo School cadets.
