President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated today that as diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Pakistan mark 60 years this year, what lies ahead is securing 60 years of prosperity and progress together.

The President said this at the business forum held for the country's business-people as part of his ongoing state visit to Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, which was also graced by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz, President Muizzu stated that the most valuable capital both countries have received over the past 60 years is "trust." He stated that the governments of both countries trust each other and that the citizens also remain in that manner.

"Now what we want is courageously setting entirely new targets from the business-people of both countries," the President said.

According to President Muizzu, "partnerships" must be created from the business forum held in Pakistan. He stated that investments must be received for the Maldives from this forum and results must be achieved.

"The Maldivian government will continue to further strengthen the investment framework, accelerate the operation of state institutions, and provide special assistance required by investors," President Muizzu said at the business forum held during his state visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

"There are many opportunities in Pakistan in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture, technology, and services," the President said.

He stated that through the strong relationship between the Maldives and Pakistan, an economy worthy of that friendship should be built.

"That is a relationship where opportunities will be broadened for our citizens due to investments. And a relationship that will transform into the foundations shared by our two countries and the progress of both nations. We have inherited 60 years of friendship. Next, what we should build is 60 years of prosperity and progress," the President said.
