Police Spokesperson Ahmed Shiyam has confirmed that there is no truth to rumours that a student of Aminiya School brought drugs to class.

A few days ago, rumours spread on social media that a group of students in Grade 5 at Aminiya School had taken drugs to school and tried to force another student to use them.

Following this, another claim arose on social media today, saying that a Grade 10 student of the same school had taken drugs to class, and that authorities were investigating this.

Asked to confirm this, Police Spokesperson Shiyam stated that no such incidents related to the school have been reported.

"It has been confirmed that no such reports or complaints have been received from either parents, students or administration of the school," Shiyam said.

Police appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unfounded claims about students.

The Education Ministry has not yet commented on the matter.
