MET has said that rainy weather conditions are expected to persist over the rest of the week. 

Currently, MET has issued a White Alert from Shaviyani atoll to Gaafu Dhaalu atoll until 4:20pm today. Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast, with wind speeds at 35mph. 

An official from MET confirmed that similar weather conditions are expected to last over the next three or four days. 

Rainfall is forecast across the country, with moderately rough seas, the official said. 

In Maldives, the Northeast Monsoon (Iruvai Moosun) spans from January to March, while the Southwest Monsoon (Hulhan'gu) lasts from May through November. April and December are transitional periods.
