Police have arrested a man accused of being a leading figure running an illegal alcohol production and sales network in GDh. Thinadhoo. 

Police have released the man's identity: Mohamed Afaaz Bin Abdulla, 21, of Rihikokaage, GDh. Thinadhoo. 

Police said that Afaaz was arrested under a court order last Sunday in a joint operation by Thinadhoo Police and Counter Narcotics Intelligence. 

An apartment in Thinadhoo believed to be associated with Afaaz was also searched under this operation. Through the search, Police discovered paraphernalia used in the production of alcohol, along with 3 20L jerry cans and a 500ml bottle containing a substance suspected of being alcohol. 

Presented in court for his remand hearing, Afaaz has been placed in remand in custody for 15 days. Police are continuing their investigations into this case.
