Two individuals have sustained serious injuries in a dangerous road accident in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi today. The two are currently receiving treatment at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. 

Videos circulating on social media show a motorcycle turning from the Kulhudhuffushi main road turning onto an adjoining street when a speeding motorcycle coming down the main road crashes into it. The motorcycle turning onto the lane had a woman driving it, while the speeding motorcycle had two men on it. 

Immediately following the clash, all three persons involved fall onto the tarmac surface of the road, as seen in the video. 

Customer Service and Public Relations Director at Kulhudhuffushi Hospital, Mohamed Hussain, has said that the accident occurred around 2:15pm today, following which three people had been brought to the hospital for treatment. These include a 20 year old man, a 17 year old boy, and a 32 year old woman. 

The 17 year old only sustained scrapes and cuts, and has been discharged from hospital following treatment, Hussain said. 

The other two accident victims sustained more serious injuries, he said. The 20 year old suffered facial injuries, for which he has undergone a CT scan. However, doctors have not yet decided on whether to transfer him to Male' for further treatment, Hussain explained. 

The woman suffered a broken leg, and is currently admitted at the hospital and receiving treatment, he revealed.
