Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa hosted 13 children aged six to ten from Naifaru's Bliss Care Foundation on October 10 for a day focused on learning, creativity and community engagement.
The resort's leadership team, associates and the young visitors spent an engaging time together during the visit, the resort said.
"Being part of the Lhaviyani Atoll community means finding ways to extend our hospitality beyond our day to day operations," said Mohamed Abdulla, Director of Human Resources at Le Méridien Maldives.
"Welcoming the children from Bliss Care Foundation was a wonderful opportunity for our associates to share their knowledge, spend time with our young neighbours and create moments of connection. Seeing the enthusiasm of both the children and our team reminds us how meaningful these initiatives can be."
On the trip, the children were accompanied by their therapists and the foundation's founders, Aishath Mirubah and Hussain Zeenee.
During the visit, the children toured the resort's 430 sqm hydroponic greenhouse, one of the largest of its kind in the Maldives, where Head Horticulturist Juby Thomas introduced them to sustainable farming and modern food production methods.
Le Méridien Maldives was recently recognized as Maldives' Leading Green Resort 2026 at the World Travel Awards, and asserts that they place environmental responsibility at the heart of its operations.
The programme also included a bed decoration demonstration at Thilamaafushi Villa, the largest on the resort, by the Housekeeping team and a behind the scenes look at hospitality operations with the Food and Beverage team at Turquoise restaurant.
The group spent the afternoon at the Le Méridien Family Kids Hub, taking part in recreational activities before receiving individual gifts.
The children also presented General Manager Thomas Schult with a handmade thank you gift to mark the occasion.
"Opening our doors to our neighbouring communities is always a pleasure, and there is something particularly special about welcoming children to our island," Thomas Schult said.
"Our team was just as excited as our young visitors to share what makes Thilamaafushi special, from the greenhouse to the experiences that bring our resort to life. We hope this visit brought them joy, encouraged their curiousity, and perhaps even planted a seed of inspiration for them."

Bliss Care Foundation, established in Naifaru in 2024, supports around 90 children with special needs through specialized therapies and inclusive community excursions.
"At Bliss Care Foundation, we believe that every child deserves opportunities to explore, learn and experience the world beyond their familiar surroundings," said Aishath Mirubah, co-founder of Bliss Care Foundation.
"The visit gave our children the opportunity to experience a resort environment, explore new facilities and meet the people who work behind the scenes. We are sincerely grateful to the team at Le Méridien Maldives for their warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements in making this experience possible."
The resort said the initiative aligns with its award-winning sustainability practices and Marriott International's Serve 360 platform, which emphasizes environmental stewardship, community involvement and inclusion.
