The Ministry of Economic Affairs has warned that action will be taken against businesses selling goods without clearly displaying their prices.

Under Article 16 of the Consumer Protection of Goods and Services Act, the price of goods must be clearly communicated to consumers. Selling goods without making their prices known to buyers is prohibited, the ministry said.

In an announcement, the ministry outlined the requirements for goods to be considered properly priced under the law.

Prices must either be written, printed or attached directly to the goods, or clearly displayed at the place where the goods are kept for sale.

The ministry urged businesses to ensure that all goods offered for sale are clearly priced in accordance with the law.

It also said inspections and monitoring would be carried out under Section 66 of the Act to ensure sellers comply with the requirements.
