Drivers who are in the police's former records for being stopped due to driving fast and in a dangerous manner on the road are being summoned to the police's office and advised.

A 22-year-old Maldivian man was advised yesterday under the police's program to bring those who have repeatedly been driving dangerously on the road to the police's office and advise them. He is the first person who has been taken to the police office and advised.

According to the police, his records include driving while performing stunts that would cause fear in the hearts of the public, driving fast in a zigzag pattern, driving the wrong way on one-way roads, driving while speaking on the phone, driving while the annual fee of the vehicle has expired and driving while their license has been suspended.

Police stated they have begun identifying those who repeated the offense of driving dangerously in order to ensure road safety and security, producing them to the police's office and advising them.

While motorcyclists who drive dangerously on the road are being brought to the police office and advised, a 26-year-old woman has passed away due to the injuries she sustained in the recent accident on Sosun Magu, where a motorcyclist who was driving dangerously hit her.

The driver of the motorcycle did not have a license and was driving in a zigzag pattern. The motorcyclist has since been arrested and remanded until the trial ends.
