Maldives has condemned an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that reportedly killed 12 people and injured more than 300 others.
In a statement, the government said it strongly condemned the attack, which was carried out by Houthi militia on 10 October.
The government said targeting civilians and vital infrastructure was a serious violation of international law and posed a grave threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and stability in the wider region.
Maldives extended its condolences to the Saudi government and people, as well as the families of those killed, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
It also reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures taken by the kingdom to protect its security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The attack involved drones and missiles, damaging the airport and forcing flights to be suspended.
