Dangerous driver doing wheel stand fined, bike towed

Police said action had been taken against a 20-year-old man who allegedly drove dangerously in Hulhumale' Phase 1 last night, causing fear among the public. His motorcycle was towed.

A person who drove dangerously in Hulhumale' has been fined, with their motorcycle being towed.

Police said action had been taken against a 20-year-old man who drove dangerously in Hulhumale' Phase 1 last night, causing fear among the public. His motorcycle was towed.

The incident occurred at around 10.30pm, police said.

Officers on patrol in Hulhumale' spotted the dangerous driving and observed the motorcycle travelling north along Kinbigas Magu from the south, passing Flat 12.

Police stated the man was driving while performing a wheel stand (wheelie). In addition to having his motorcycle towed, he was also fined, said the police.

A person was recently arrested for driving a motorcycle while laying on top of it across Sinamale' Bridge.

The new Land Transport Act states those who drive dangerously will have strict action taken against them.
