Hajj Corporation went on to say the company's aim is to implement sustainable direct flights from Addu to Jeddah for Ramadan, including July and December moving forward.
They also said these flights can be arranged due to national airline Maldivian starting wide-body operations and that this is a great boost to Hajj Corporation in further expanding this service in a sustainable manner.
Hajj Corporation said they are offering flights from Addu to Jeddah so that southern citizens would not have to travel to Male', which will facilitate sustainable and convenient Umrah pilgrimages.
The initial flights directly from Addu Gan to Jeddah for Umrah pilgrimages were arranged and started by a private organization known as "Dhathuruveriya". 259 pilgrims went for Umrah pilgrimages in July 2026 directly from Gan to Jeddah via Maldivian's A-330 airplane. 110 of the pilgrims flew from Addu.
