Fiya Foundation to build a 1,000-capacity mosque in Villingili

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs stated that the two-story mosque will feature a prayer area, two classrooms, and an imam's room.

The foundation stone for the mosque to be constructed by the "Fiya Foundation" on the land where Villingili's Masjid al-Salam was located was laid today.

The foundation stone for the 1,000-capacity mosque, to be built on the site of Masjid al-Salam by the Fiya Foundation, headed by Ibrahim Rasheed, Managing Director of Rasheed Carpentry and Construction (RCC), was laid by Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

The Fiya Foundation stated that approximately MVR 30 million will be spent on constructing the mosque.

In addition to members of Rasheed's family, today's ceremony was also attended by RCC Chairman and Rasheed's uncle, Mohamed Nazim.

Speaking at the ceremony held today to lay the foundation stone of the mosque, Shaheem stated that it will be a spacious and beautiful mosque built in Villingili, and that it is something the residents of that district have been requesting for a long time.
