President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's Cabinet held a meeting with the heads of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) yesterday so the latest information on the government's development projects could be shared and the projects themselves can be expedited.

The President’s Office said the latest information on ongoing projects across all Maldivian islands and the President’s presidential pledges was shared during the meeting.

The office also said ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises held a broad discussion on the matter.

The President's Office stated that President Muizzu instructed that the many projects that have been halted due to the lack of resources caused by the ongoing Middle East war, which has been solved, are to proceed once more at a high speed.

Additionally, the President emphasized cooperative efforts and finishing the projects according to their individual deadlines with more dedication, said the President's Office.

While addressing the nation during this year's Independence Day ceremony, President Muizzu said the many foundational projects that are underway at islands will be finished within the next two years and that a major part of the developmental vision will be achieved.

According to the President, water and sewerage projects on all islands will be completed by Independence Day in two years.

He also said waste disposal facilities, waste management centres, fitness and recreation centres, and outdoor gyms will be established or completed as part of the projects.
