Mohamed Sinan, former member of the Parliament for Hithadhoo North constituency, has been appointed to the position of Managing Director of Agro National Corporation (AgroNet).

Sinan was appointed to the MD position of AgroNet, a subsidiary company of MIFCO, at Monday's MIFCO board meeting.

In addition to him, MIFCO Managing Director Mohamed Anas has been appointed to the position of AgroNet Chairman.

While contesting for the Parliament on a PNC ticket and serving his term, the Supreme Court ruled that his seat was lost upon determining that he had failed to pay a proven debt.

Following that, he won the PNC primary held to contest the constituency's by-election. However, Sinan later relinquished that opportunity.

AgroNet is a company established by the government in 2020 during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration to conduct agricultural business. This government had also previously decided to dissolve the company.
