Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu requested parents today to recognize teachers' work as a very noble and lofty endeavor, acknowledging it and according them the honor they rightfully deserve.
In a message delivered by the minister in connection with World Teachers' Day celebrated internationally today, he stated that everyone's resolve should be to protect the teaching profession, uphold its dignity, and stand steadfastly with teachers.
The minister stated that while maintaining that steadfastness, there is a need to further strengthen the resolve to enhance the education and upbringing provided in schools.
The minister stated that it is important to appreciate the lofty sacrifices made by teachers to build an educated, skilled, and industrious generation.
Therefore, highlighting that this government has been working to revive the culture of honoring and respecting teachers, Ismail stated that modern and professional training has been provided, and efforts have been made to make school environments safe and joyful for the psychological well-being of teachers and students.
The minister stated that teachers perform a massive national duty with dignity, and therefore students and parents should accord them immense honor in their hearts.
According to the minister, teachers play the biggest responsibility in protecting students' right to learning. He stated that they must be individuals equipped with the capability to fulfill responsibilities, skills, and work ethics.
"Teachers are those who fulfill a very great national duty with dignity and honor. Teachers are the ones who shoulder the heavy responsibility of playing the role of students' second guardians. Therefore, I request that teachers be made individuals given countless honors in the hearts of students and parents. And I urge parents to extend greater cooperation than before in recognizing teaching as a noble and lofty endeavor and giving that profession the rightful honor it deserves,"Education Minister Shafeeu
The minister also stated that every teacher's resolve should be to include all students, foster a love for learning in them, and make them responsible individuals prepared for life. For this purpose, Minister Ismail stated that teachers must be individuals who work towards professional advancement, are familiar with technology and modern changes, and are always ready for necessary changes in teaching methods.
