President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has highlighted the vital role teachers play in shaping future generations, strengthening communities and contributing to nation building.
In a message posted on his official X account to mark World Teachers’ Day, President Muizzu paid tribute to educators for their knowledge, dedication and guidance in nurturing young people.
He said supporting teachers was essential to enabling them to effectively fulfil their role in shaping children and contributing to the development of society.
The president reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing teachers’ wellbeing, reducing excessive workloads, improving working conditions, strengthening inclusive education and enhancing teachers’ capacity to support children with disabilities.
He also stressed the importance of valuing the teaching profession and investing in educators to ensure every teacher has the support needed to help every child reach their full potential.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also extended her greetings to teachers on World Teachers’ Day in a message posted on X.
She noted that teachers face new challenges as classrooms continue to evolve with the growing use of technology and artificial intelligence.
First Lady Sajidha stressed the importance of empowering and equipping teachers to adapt confidently to these changes, while expressing gratitude for their patience, care and dedication.
