The Ministry of Environment has opened bids to procure 20 watering vehicles for trees planted under the government’s Five Million Trees Programme.
The ministry said interested parties can submit bids for the provision of the vehicles.
Interested bidders must register before Wednesday, according to the ministry’s announcement.
A bid security of MVR8,000 is required, with the security valid for 120 days from the date of bid opening.
Bids must be submitted by 10am on October 14 and will be opened at 10:05am the same day.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to plant five million trees across the country during the government’s five-year term.
The Five Million Trees Programme was launched on June 5, 2024, to coincide with World Environment Day. More than one million trees have been planted under the programme so far, according to the ministry.
