Man arrested for ordering food with fake payment slips

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly ordering food using fake payment slips, with the Criminal Court extending his remand by 15 days.

The man, identified as Mohamed Jadhuan of Iramaage, Gaafu Dhaalu Fares-Maathodaa, was arrested on charges of fraud and deception.

The Criminal Court extended his remand yesterday. According to the court order, Jadhuan was the person who received the food ordered using the fake payment slips.

The court said sufficient evidence had been presented to establish grounds for alleging his involvement in the offence.

The court also ordered that he remain in custody due to his alleged involvement in the offence and previous criminal record, citing concerns that he could reoffend if released.

There have been previous cases in which people were arrested for allegedly ordering food using fake payment or bank transfer slips.
