The police have requested that vehicles be removed and cleared from certain streets in the area before 12:00 midnight tonight to commence the second segment of the Ameenee Magu rehabilitation project.

In a post on social media, the police stated that road construction work will begin tomorrow, changing the traffic flow from Izzuddeen Magu up to Kooru Kendi Hingun, and closing the area to public transport.

Therefore, the police have requested that those vehicles be removed before 12 midnight tonight.

"We apologize for any difficulties this change may cause the public, and we take this opportunity to note and thank the public for the cooperation received in such matters," the police post stated.

The first segment of the road, starting from the Tsunami Monument square up to the Voice of Maldives building, has now been paved with asphalt and completed.

The ministry stated that the previously closed roads will be reopened tomorrow.
