MDP investment forum seeks investors for 76 council projects

The party said 76 project proposals would be presented at the forum, with 40 specifying the amount of investment required. The total investment sought for these 40 projects is USD306 million.

MDP has opened an investment forum featuring 76 projects proposed by local councils.

MDP’s investment forum, “Rahvehi Tharahggee”, aims to facilitate investment in development projects planned by councils.

The party said 76 project proposals would be presented at the forum, with 40 specifying the amount of investment required. The total investment sought for these 40 projects is USD306 million.

The largest project proposal by value was submitted by the Thinadhoo City Council. The proposal includes the development of Kaadehdhoo Airport and the construction of a southern seaplane hub.

Thinadhoo City Council has submitted five other projects to the forum.

Male' City Council has also submitted proposals for a climate park, a waterfront climbing wall and an exercise area.

Addu City Council and Fuvahmulah City Council are seeking investors for a solar home battery project, while Kulhudhuffushi City Council has proposed a solar power project called Geydhoshu Power Station.

Addu City and Fuvahmulah City councils have submitted proposals for eight projects, including the construction of a convention centre in Addu City.

In addition to the city councils, 27 island councils have submitted project proposals to the investment forum.
