Parliament is scheduled to resume on Monday after a month-long recess.
The first sitting of the third session of Parliament is scheduled for Monday, with a debate on the Proceeds of Crime Bill on the agenda.
The last sitting of Parliament was held on August 26.
According to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, Parliament holds three regular sessions each year.
The sessions are as follows:
- First session: February 1 to May 15, beginning with the president’s address.
- Second session: June 1 to August 15.
- Third session: October 1 to November 30.
Members of Parliament go on recess at the end of each session. However, if there are important matters that need to be decided, Parliament may extend a session by a vote or hold an emergency sitting during the recess.
