MACL board removes Mihad and Sahar

The Privatization Board said in a social media post that Mohamed Mihad of H. Finolhu, executive director of the board, and M. Velaaluge Sahar Waheed, a Board Member, had been removed from the MACL board.

Two members of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Board of Directors were removed on Thursday.

The Privatization Board said in a social media post that Mohamed Mihad of H. Finolhu, executive director of the board, and M. Velaaluge Sahar Waheed, a Board Member, had been removed from the MACL board.

Mihad, who also serves as MACL’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), was appointed to the company’s board in April 2025. He has held senior positions at several state-owned companies and previously served as deputy chief financial officer of State Trading Organization (STO).

Sahar, who is a board member and deputy CEO and COO of Bank of Maldives (BML), was appointed to the MACL board in December 2023.

Sahar was also appointed managing director of the corporation established in July to develop Addu Hankede in August.
