The Ministry of Education has announced an opening for a principal at the Malé Vocational High School. According to the announcement made by the ministry yesterday, a permanent principal is required for the position. Aminath Afra is currently serving as the temporary principal of the school.
The qualifications for a Rank 1 Principal include;
- Hold a Level 7 or Level 8 qualification under the Maldives National Qualifications Framework in the field of education, teaching, or a subject-specific discipline
- Level 9 qualification in the field of education, teaching, or a subject-specific discipline
- Candidates must also have served for at least two years in teaching at a school and 4 years in the management field of an educational or higher educational institution.
Alternatively, the requirements for a Rank 1 Principal also encompass having a Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in education, teaching, or a subject-specific discipline, serving at least two years in teaching at a school, and having eight years of service in the management field of an educational or higher educational institution.
The salary for a Rank 1 principal is MVR 16,647, with a position allowance of MVR 9,534 per month, alongside a daily attendance allowance of MVR 258 for every working day.
The requirements for a Rank 2 Principal are:
- A Level 10 qualification under the national framework in education, teaching, or a subject-specific discipline, having served for two years as a teacher in a school, and having four years of service in the management field of an educational or higher educational institution.
- Another pathway for Rank 2 includes holding a Level 7 or Level 8 qualification along with a Level 9 qualification in education, teaching, or a subject-specific discipline, having served for two years as a teacher in a school, and having eight years of service in the management field of an educational or higher educational institution.
The salary for a Rank 2 principal is MVR 17,985, with a monthly position allowance of MVR 10,300, and a daily attendance allowance of MVR 279 for each working day.
