A Nepalese man and woman have been arrested at the airport for attempting to smuggle in drugs by swallowing them. Authorities ultimately found that they had swallowed 106 bullets of drugs. 

The woman has been identified as Ithrani Gale', 40, and the man as Nikka Thamang, 47.

The court has placed both in remand in custody for 30 days. As per the court order, suspicious behaviour from the two came to the notice of Customs officers. The two were then detained and taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital to undergo scans. The scans showed 'foreign bodies', and doctors are said to have flagged it as possible drugs. 

According to the court order, authorities recovered 53 bullets from each individual following excretion, with a weight of 650g. 

The total 106 bullets of drugs retrieved had a combined weight of 1.3kg. 

At the remand hearing, the two were assigned a translator. The court granted them the opportunity to find legal representation.
