Charges have been filed against Eesha Ashraf, a former employee of the President's Office accused of providing information for a documentary making allegations against President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

The Prosecutor General's Office confirmed tonight that the charge of qazf under the Penal Code has been raised against Eesha, and the case was submitted to the Criminal Court today.

The charge has been brought against her on the grounds that allegations of extramarital sex (Zina) were falsely made against President Muizzu.

In connection with the documentary case, qazf charges have also been filed against Adhadhu CEO Hussain Fiyaz Moosa and the newspaper's editor, Hassan Mohamed. During the trial, which is being held behind closed doors, both Fiyaz and Hassan denied the charge.

The court has also issued an order prohibiting any discussion regarding the video documentary released by Adhadhu.
