President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today reasserted commitment towards advancing the Maldives' tourism sector through digital innovation and skills development, while at the same time safeguarding the country's natural beauty and identity. 

The President's message was shared on occasion of World Tourism Day, for which this year's theme is "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism". 

President Muizzu recognized the role of all those contributing to the success of the tourism sector, and extended thanks via a social media post. 

He went on to appreciate the sector's key contributions to national development, as well as how it has enriched lives and created opportunities for the people across the islands. 

Highlighting how digital technologies and artificial intelligence continue to reshape the global tourism landscape, and how tourists discover destinations and plan vacations, the President noted that digital innovation and skills development are necessary to advance the sector. He emphasized the importance of balancing this advancement with preservation of the country's authenticity and world-renowned hospitality. 

President Muizzu stressed that continued innovation and investment in people will be essential to ensuring Maldives remains a leading tourism destination.
