Police have started an investigation after a video started circulating on social media showing a motorcycle driving dangerously in Male' at a heavy traffic time. 

Police are now looking for the motorists seen in the footage. 

They confirmed that they have launched an investigation after the video was brought to their attention. 

The video shows a motorcycle speeding and weaving through traffic dangerously near the Artificial Beach area. 

Police have not disclosed whether any related arrests have been made yet, or whether any other action has been taken. 

Another video has since emerged on social media, showing similar dangerous driving in Hulhumale'. 

The public have been criticizing police inaction over dangerous driving, with complaints having increased after the recent death of a 26 year old woman who was the victim of an accident caused by another motorist driving dangerously.

The motorist involved in that accident is currently in remand in custody, and police revealed that he had been fined on four occasions previously for driving without a valid license.
