Police have recovered around MVR 100,000 of MVR 150,000 stolen from the under-seat storage compartment of a motorcycle parked near the Male' Swimming Track. 

Police said that they received reports of the theft last Wednesday. 

Through their investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage from the area, through which they identified the suspect. The suspect was then questioned, and admitted to the theft, police said. 

The suspect then handed over to police MVR 55,000 from the stolen funds which they had deposited into their bank account. Another MVR 40,000 was deposited into the bank account of the rightful owner. 

Police revealed that the suspect has already used MVR 55,000 from the stolen funds. The investigation is working on recovering the sum. 

While no arrests have been made, police are continuing to investigate the case.
