Police issued a warning reiterating that it is against the law to cross the Sinamale' Bridge on foot to Hulhule' and Hulhumale' and reiterated that legal action will be taking against any who do so. 

They stated that the act has been illegal since the bridge was first opened in August 2018. 

Despite this, there have been instances where people have crossed the barricades blocking access on the walkway near the Hulhule' entrance, police noted, warning that doing so creates the risk of causing dangerous and tragic accidents. 

So as to strengthen public safety, police have now affixed signs showing areas where walking is prohibited. 

Action will be taken against persons who ignore these signs, and cross the areas on foot, police warned.
