GDh. Thinadhoo City Council has decided to take action against those who are making use of the plots at Thinadhoo for rent that are in violation of the agreement.

An announcement from Thinadhoo City Council reads that some of the plots on the island they have given for rent purposes are not being used as intended, which breaks the law.

The council has stated that the guidelines are not to be violated and that rental plots are not to be used aside from its intended purpose as stated in the agreement.

The council has appealed for the rental plot agreements to be observed and to act in accordance with the guidelines set by the council.

While the council has decided to take steps against those who misuse plots, sitting Mayor Saud Ali and three council members from the previous term had signed and illegally allocated plots, with the case coming to light and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filing charges against them to the Prosecutor General's (PG) Office.
