Former Controller of Immigration and former Chief of Staff at the President's Office, Dr. Mohamed Ali, passed away today.

Having also served as a State Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Mohamed Ali passed away at the age of 67 a short while ago at IGMH.

Having attained a PhD in the field of environment, Mohamed Ali was an individual who served for a long time at the Ministry of Home Affairs and the former Ministry of Planning. He worked in those two ministries during the period when the environment division was under those ministries.

Mohamed Ali held the position of Chief of Staff at the President's Office and subsequently the position of Controller of Immigration during the administration of former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed. Furthermore, during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, Mohamed Ali served as a State Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

Giving special attention to environmental issues, Mohamed Ali was an individual who frequently traveled by bicycle instead of driving motorized vehicles.
