The racer who sustained serious injuries through falling into the sea with his motorcycle during a racing event a L. Gan has been transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in capital Male' for further treatment. 

An IGMH Media Official said that the 20 year old youth is currently on ventilator support in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. 

Details of his injuries have not been disclosed at this time. 

Police have said that they received reports at 10am yesterday of a racer participating in the Racing Championship - Laamu Edition losing control of his motorcycle and falling into the sea along with his vehicle.

The man was initially treated at the L. Gan Regional Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. However, as his condition was deemed serious and in need of more advanced care, he was transferred to IGMH. 

Police are investigating the incident.
