President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said last night that the People's National Congress (PNC) will always enforce national policy first and that not even a sliver of Maldives will be given to foreign parties.
During the closing ceremony for the ruling PNC Congress held at the Social Center, President Muizzu said the party's ideology is a clear and direct philosophy without any differences of opinion that everyone believes in, and that it is "the nation first".
While stating that the nation first is a short sentence, President Muizzu said it is a sentence connected to the persistence of Maldives. He also said PNC will pass on the country to the coming generations with the philosophy of the nation first being prioritized.
"The party will move forward with that sentence, there is no difference of opinion within this party regarding the matter. That is why these lines are so strong. That is why we are not split. That is why we have a good friendship among one another," said the President.
President of PNC Muizzu said that the message PNC is giving to the country is the message of prioritizing the nation first and that the nation is being governed fairly with that being the priority. He went on to say that from the first second the current government took office, they have been working to pass on the nation to the next generation as a proud Islamic country.
According to the President, the question citizens need to responsibly ask today is whether the nation is being put first. He requested the public to offer their full cooperation toward PNC's efforts in achieving that.
"The sentence and the main policy regarding PNC's efforts for the citizens is the policy I just mentioned," the President said.
As per President Muizzu, he works to establish fairness, and that he prioritizes fairness and sincerity in solving the biggest issues the country is facing. He went on to say that the current government is working to solve the major problems the country has been facing for a long time on that basis. President Muizzu said that is the difference between PNC's ideology and other ideologies.
"We will move forward with an ideology of building fairly and sincerely in a just manner with the nation first when solving the country's problems. We want to solve the nation's issues," as the President said.
President Muizzu continued by stating that other political parties in Maldives have destructive ideologies, and said that PNC is the party that works closely with the public in what they aim for.
During the PNC presidential ticket awarding ceremony in running for the 2028 Presidential Election, President Muizzu highlighted that PNC is the only political party that speaks about love for the nation and that other parties do not have that right. He said that they do not have that right because Maldives does not have any foreign military personnel, as was promised to the public by PNC. He also said that other parties were not able to accomplish that.
President Muizzu spoke on Maldives keeping positive diplomatic relations with neighboring countries and other countries, but that the priority is Maldives and its interests.
The President went on to say that the opposition ideology has finanically ruined Maldives and that assets have been sold, with this country working to save Maldives from those debts and to bring back assets.
"The person whose heart beats with the pulse of the "nation first" philosophy is the one people should cooperate with in giving the assets of Maldivians back to them. That is the difference in ideology between PNC and other people," stated the President.
Even though the former MDP government gave Male' International Airport to a foreign party, President Muizzu said the current government is building the Male' Commercial Harbor in Thilafushi without giving even a sliver of it to a foreign party.
