Principal of Arabiyya School Dr. Mohamed Shujau Abdul Raheem has stepped down from his position after 8 years of service.
Shujau told Mihaaru News he resigned as principal of the school in order to take on the position of Dean of the Kulliyyah of Arabic Language at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
He resigned as principal after 8 years, 8 months and 8 days at Arabiyya School.

University deans are appointed after interviews are conducted with those who meet requirements when a position is made available.
Shujau was appointed as the Principal of Arabiyya School on 8th January 2018. He was dismissed from the position after four years, with a court order telling him to be reinstated as the principal a year after his dismissal.

He took on the post once more on 20th November 2023.
Shujau, B. Dharavandhoo, acquired a PhD in education from Malaysia's International Islamic University last year.
Before taking on his position at Arabiyya School, he was employed from 2003 at the College of Islamic Studies, now known as IUM.
