A 35 year old Maldivian man was injured in an altercation in Male' early Thursday morning.

Police said the incident occurred at around 2:30am.

The man was taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment, police said.

A hospital media official said the man was still receiving treatment in the emergency room, but did not provide details about his condition.

Police are investigating the incident.
