The Unicode Consortium has included the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol in the Unicode Standard.

With the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol included in Unicode Standard Version UNICODE 18.0, the code point assigned to the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol is U+20C2.

The MMA stated that with the inclusion of the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol, which was introduced in 2022, in the Unicode Standard, the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol can now be used uniformly across websites, mobile applications, and various digital platforms.

The MMA also stated that this is an important milestone achieved in making the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol easily usable across digital resources.

Therefore, the MMA has expressed its gratitude to all parties that assisted the MMA in working to include the Maldivian Rufiyaa symbol in the Unicode Standard.

The Unicode Consortium is the organization that establishes and maintains a uniform standard for recognizing various countries' currency symbols on digital platforms. However, preparing and designing a country's currency symbols is something done independently by that country's official authorities.
