Delegation of the communist party of China meets the President

The President's Office noted that Peng emphasized shared principles and close relations between the Maldives and China, commending President Muizzu's reform efforts.

During a trip to the Maldives, a delegation from the Communist Party of China paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today.

The President's Office stated that the delegation, led by Peng Xiubin, Director General of the Bureau for South and Southeast Asian Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with the President this morning at Muliaage, the presidential residence.

The President's Office also stated that during the meeting, Peng highlighted the principles shared by the Maldives and China and the close relations between the peoples of both countries, and praised President Muizzu's efforts to bring reformative changes to the Maldives.

"In that meeting, Peng expressed his hope to increase economic cooperation, strengthen relations in matters beneficial to both countries, and take the relations between the two countries to new heights," the President's Office stated.

He also stated that the frequent high-level interactions between the Maldives and China demonstrate the strength of the relationship between the two nations.

During the meeting, President Muizzu thanked China for its long-standing relationship with the Maldives and the assistance provided by the country to the Maldives.
