The father injured in the August 31 accident in Hulhumale' has passed away today. 

The accident in Hulhumale' Phase 2, on the intersection of Heenama Hin'gun and Dhun'burigas Magu involved a collision between a motorcycle and car. 

The motorcycle was being driven by Mohamed Afeef, 62, of Lh. Kurendhoo, with his 24 year old son as a passenger. Both sustained serious injuries in the accident. 

Afeef passed a way today while under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit. Funeral prayers for Afeef are scheduled to be held after Dhuhr prayers today at the Hulhumale' Cemetery Mosque.

Afeef had a distinguished career as a teacher. He began teaching at a young age and worked for 32 years, teaching Dhivehi Language, Islam and Environmental Studies at various schools in Male' and the islands at both primary and secondary levels. 

He served as a Dhivehi Language teacher at Jamaluddeen School, Ahmadhiyya School, Aminiya School, Lh. Atoll Madhrasa, Fareedhiyya School and Ghaazee School over the years. 

Afeef is the second life claimed in dangerous road accidents in Hulhumale' within the past month. Earlier, a nine-year old girl died in an accident in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
