Ruling People's National Congress (PNC) has elected six Vice Presidents.
Candidates who ran for the post are Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu, Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu), Nilandhoo MP Fathimath Saudha, Baarah MP Ibrahim Shujau, Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed, Central Maafannu MP Asma Rasheed and LGA CEO Mohamed Nimal.
Voting for the VP positions was held earlier today at the ongoing PNC congress. Sports Minister Rafiu secured the highest number of votes.
Voting was conducted through a dedicated mobile app, with a seven-minute window granted to cast the vote in.

- Ahmed Shiyam: 964 votes
- Fathimath Saudha: 923 votes
- Ibrahim Shujau: 862 votes
- Mohamed Saeed: 833 votes
- Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu): 780 votes
- Mohamed Nimal: 301 votes
- Asma Rasheed: 288 votes
The PNC congress is scheduled to last through Friday. Today, the congress is focusing on internal elections for various branches of the party.
